Kendra and Lauren braved the oncoming blizzard conditions to complete the "Riding in the Open" phase of their D3 rating. They both passed their rating with proficient skills - great job!

Google Calendar

I just finished updating the KEC Google Calendar this afternoon and evening... I just LOVE dial up internet service... &%$#! I'm kidding of course!

Please check out this great tool for looking up everything at KEC that you'd need to know to stay informed! We don't want to have anyone feel that they're not "in the loop" - not on purpose at least!

We have several calendars available:

KEC Activities Calendar: listing tack sales, camps, meetings and such. Not too many misc. activities planned right now as I seem to stay busy enough with just lessons right now!! We do hope to plan some camps in the Spring - we'll keep you posted!
Pony Club Calendar: lists all Pony Club activities in the Lakeshore Region and at KEC
Chore calendar: lists who's in charge of chores on each night - student workers will be responsible for updating the calendar when they swap chore nights due to scheduling conflicts.
Sarah's Lesson Calendar: lists Sarah's lesson dates/times and available spots in lessons. Sarah still needs to update her calendar for 2008 - I'll let her know this week....
Heather's Lesson Calendar: lists Heather's lessons dates/times. Please don't freak out if it's not 100% accurate - I'm still learning about the in's and out's of setting up recurring events and such. Just let me know if something doesn't look correct.
Heather and Sarah's Events: lists activites that Heather and Sarah are doing outside of the barn. For instance, my trip to Boston is listed and one day, maybe, Sarah's wedding date will be listed one day???? Just joking Sarah :-)
KEC Appointments: lists any upcoming vet or farrier appointments. PS - the farrier comes again on Jan. 21st. We're looking to set up an early spring and late spring vet appointment to get everyone up to date on Coggins. We'll do our annual vaccination clinic during the week after daylight savings time this Spring. It will be with Dr. Donna Mertz - same as last year.

Here's how to access these calendars!

1. Go to www.google.com
2.Click on the "more" tab in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
3. Click on "Calendar"
4. Log in to the public barn Google account that we've set up for everyone at KEC to use:

5. Scroll through the different months and look at different activities planned. Everything is color coded pretty well. Feel free to print off the calendars for your reference! Please don't change any content until I figure out how to set everything up - thanks!!!

Holiday Thank You

Thanks to everyone who's thought of us with a showering of Christmas presents and gift cards over the holiday season! We really appreciate it. Remember, though, that we couldn't offer everything that we do without the team effort that everyone puts in throughout the year!

Monthly Invoices

Just a quick note to tell all of our regular monthly students/boarders/lesees that I'll e-mailing everyone a copy of their monthly invoice to help speed up the payment process on my end. For those of you with January activities planned, if you haven't received an e-mailed invoice by the end of the week and you'd like to be included in this, just e-mail or call me to give me your e-mail address so I can get you set up! kuenzis@powercom.net is the e-mail address to contact me at. I'll still be printing off a hard copy of the invoices and posting them on the barn hallway bulletin board till we figure out how well it works out.

WELCOME - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'm looking forward to offering a Blog site as a way for everyone to communicate about current happenings at KEC! I'm hoping we'll use this site to post announcements about schedule changes, new students introductions, lease updates and activity updates.

We're still working on creating a top-notch website with Ashley Kempka's Mom Stephanie. But till then, this blog site will serve as our main public information center.

Through the Winter - Keep checking the site to check on lesson cancellations due to weather.

I'll post any cancelled lessons on this site as soon as I know the weather will be 20 degrees or colder in the afternoon/evenings. We do hope to schedule several unmounted lessons for students during cold weather, but we won't be able to do that till the lounge bathroom project is completed and all of our unmounted lesson resources are re-organized.

Keep your eye on this site too for new photos of horses and activities in the barn!
